Google Revamps to Fight Cheaters

What does this mean to us internet marketers? As always… Produce quality content!

That’s all Google is asking for… they want to offer quality content in their search results for their customers. I don’t blame them!

Here is a link to the full article…

  • Google changes its algorithms to combat cheaters
Google revamped the mathematical formulas it uses in its search rankings last week, part of an ongoing effort to weed out sites that game the system, as it seeks to preserve the quality of its search results. “Overall Google has done a great job and there are very few cracks in the system,” said Conductor Inc. CEO Seth Besmertnik. “But spammers are getting smarter and Google needs to keep getting smarter.” The Wall Street Journal (2/26) Right-click here to download pictures. Donna, you forgot one important point besides quality content. Google also wants ORIGINAL content. They will punish any copied articles and copied but lousy rewritten articles. A copied content can be of high quality but if their bots find that an article already exists somewhere else, even just some lines out of an article, bots compare them – it’s all included in their algorithm.

This is a great article. I never have any idea what this new algorithm was, not until I read your post. Google really look for ways to be able give its user the most accurate information they need. Thus they need to eliminate those cheater and spammers online. Quality and Original work are very important.
