Yes, the Secret is so inspiring and motivating!
It all started happening around the same time for me (about 1 1/2 years ago)… an introduction to online marketing, the Secret, other self-development books and programs.
I bought Bob Proctor’s Goal Achiever course and wrote down my goal: to own my own successful online business. I’ve carried it with my in my purse ever since.
I immersed myself deeply in learning… self development books, and every internet marketing eBook, email or teleseminar recording I could get my hands on.
I was still floundering, though, even with all this knowledge.
Take a step back…
I’ve always been entrepeneurial at heart beginning with hot chocolate stands to selling candy bars on the school bus to running a catering business in college to pay for my meals, rent, etc…
In my early professional career, I learned quickly that I wanted to be self employed. And some time after that I KNEW I wanted financial freedom.
Yet, how to get there?
My “real” start a year and half ago was terrific, yet I was still not making money. I failed miserably with traditional network marketing.
Then all of the sudden… things started to come together. Great opportunities came at me from all directions… too many really!
anyway… back to the Secret. It’s a wonderful place to start with realizing that you have to have the correct mindset. But there is so much more to success.
I think the Secret is fabulous, though, because it appeals to the masses. It is very effective at getting more people down the path to personal success than most other books/programs out there.
And isn’t that what we want in this world? to spread the wealth, to turn more people in the directions we are taking? The majority in this country never get a chance, because they don’t know HOW to get there. The Secret is a tool that can reach more of those people.
Before The Sercret, it was hard for the average person to cross this path of “How to achieve personal success”, unless you were fortunate, like Oprah was, to have a good mentor from an early age.
I WISH I had been exposed earlier on. I was always taught that a good university degree, a good job and climbing the corporate ladder was the road to success.
I am grateful, though, that it happened at all (discovering the path, discovering the Secret), even if it took 38 years! Because now I am down that path, and I KNOW it, I can FEEL it!
So, The Secret is good, but it’s only a start in my opinion, but you still have to TAKE ACTION.
I REALLY like T. Harv Ecker’s Millionaire Mind. It’s really action oriented. It’s a great next step following The Secret movie.
